All of our clubs are started and run by students, so don't worry if you can't find a club that catches your eye, try starting your own! Get in touch for a copy of the Clubs Handbook to find out what's involved, then get in touch with Activites Officer Navid for advice on the next steps. In a nutshell, this is what you need to know:
If you have any questions, whether it's about joining a club or starting one, then come and visit us at the Students' Union office in Cardiff, Treforest or Newport City or get in touch with Navid
here.
The Student Council needs to approve all new clubs, so the first thing to do is write a proposal for them to view.
The proposal only needs to be around one side of A4 outlining the aims and goals of the society and what benefits it will have for the University. It will also be helpful if you describe how you are going to fund your activities.
Once you have your approval you’ve then got the task of getting members. You can do this by having a stand at WelcomeFest at the start of term or by advertising your group on the University's campuses or perhaps by running a social media campaign.
