there's a sport out there for everyone!

 Hey, I'm Zoë.

I’m a firm believer that there is a sport or activity out there for all we just have to find it,

I have been involved within badminton from the age of 7and at 9 I began playing for the county. I later became a fulltime badminton coach where I  helped to inspire players to get involved with badminton. During that time I saw many children and teenagers try out badminton after finding that they did not like team sports. Some carried on playing, with a couple going on to play for the county themselves, and others deciding that it wasn’t for them and moving on to try a different sport. i also worked alongside people with disabilities teaching them a range of sports which was very rewarding to see those who dont often manage to get a chance to join in be fully involved. Through my time as a coach I also ran many badminton tournaments.

I have and the opportunity to learn the benefits of being part of clubs, for the social interaction, the sporting element, but also for the support that the badminton club has provided me with completing my studies.

If elected I would like to see as many students as possible get involved with the SU activities that are already in place, but I also want to be approachable for anyone who would like to start a new club or activity, and support them in getting new activities up and running so more people can be and feel involved and supported in a wider variety of activities.

Activities are a great way for us to find other students with similar interests and I’m sure I’m not the only one who can say that I have made a great group of friends through being involved in a club.
