Empowering Every Student, Every Voice, Every Future

I'm Jahid Hasan, contending for the president post of the University of South Wales Student Union. Presently, I am pursuing my MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the university while concurrently holding roles as a Student Navigator and Student Leader. With a background in pharmacy, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Gujarat, India, funded entirely by a government scholarship. Throughout my undergraduate tenure, I actively participated in extracurricular activities, notably serving as the vice-captain of the university cricket team and engaging with the Human Rights Commission, alongside competing in national and international cricket and chess tournaments. Beyond academia, my interests encompass drumming, music, literature, and extensive travel.

In my prospective presidency, I aim to enhance academic transparency, secure additional resources for students, and advocate for diverse curriculum representation. Ensuring fair treatment and representation for all students will be my utmost priority. Furthermore, I am committed to championing inclusive campus initiatives and improving accessibility to mental health services, academic support, and disability-friendly facilities. Establishing effective feedback channels will enable prompt addressing of student concerns. As president, I aspire to create a supportive and inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of our student body.
