Together we can shape your education!
Hi! My name is Georgia Powell, I am a 3rd Year BSc Forensic Science student, I am also currently a Student Voice Representative for FCES.
During my time at USW I have grown very passionate about representing the student body and making sure that every student voice is heard. I have been Course Representative for two years of my studies, winning Student Course Representative of the Year 2023, which I felt very honoured to receive. I worked a lot with students on my course that year, with regards to any adaptations needed for assignments, to supporting students who were struggling with aspects of their university life.
As a mature student I feel my time I spent in employment before attending university gave me experience with a lot of skills, especially communication, teamwork and leadership skills, that have helped me excel in each of my roles at USW.
I feel that equality is very important and have always valued inclusivity. As a neurodiverse student, with a hidden disability, I feel strongly about education being easily accessible for all abilities. I also aim to advocate for more awareness around neurodiversity within an education setting, allowing for assessments that suit all abilities and material delivered in a way that allows every student to have the best chance possible at succeeding.
I would like to make a difference, no matter how big or small, for the student body and would love to work with students to acheive this.
Most importantly I am honest, what you see is what you get. I want to help in any way I can to make your voices heard.
