My name is Fola, and it brings me great excitement to articulate my ambitions for the position of VP Activities. As a Masters in Public Health student, my profound understanding of the intricate connection between well-being and lifestyle choices fuels my commitment to enriching student life and cultivating a strong sense of belonging. With unwavering dedication, I commit to introducing innovative initiatives that cater to the diverse interests of our campus community. Here are the core tenets of my vision;
1. Engage more student in societies and sports clubs: The basis of university experience is to network and meet diverse group of people. By prioritizing event planning to accommodate diverse student schedules and advocating for inclusive accommodations, including those for off-campus students, we can foster a vibrant and inclusive campus community.
2. Create a healthy living programs: Developing a holistic wellness program educating students about physical health and healthy activities, promoting environmental sustainability, and increasing awareness of mental health activities available at the university. Leading initiatives to prioritize emotional and physical wellness through programs such as stress-relief activities, charities and outdoor excursions will contribute to a supportive and thriving student environment.
3. Emphasize the importance of practical skill acquisition beyond traditional classroom learning: By fostering an environment conducive to exploration and skill cultivation through workshops, seminars, and experiential learning opportunities, we can equip students with the tools necessary for success in an ever-evolving landscape. Cultivating a culture of continuous learning and skill development will empower students to excel in their academic and professional pursuits.
